Shimla Girl Arya Rattan Embraces K-Drama, Food and Style

It was during the lockdown that I watched my first K-drama. My school friends were into watching Korean dramas and would tell me to start watching as well. But I wasn't very keen initially. But during the lockdown, when we switched to online classes, it was then that I watched Goblin and absolutely loved it. I remember crying, because the ending was very emotional. I even discussed the movie and the ending with my friends over the next few days.

Soon, we ended up forming an informal "gang" of girls-about 10-12 girls from my school, who loved watching K-dramas. I watched many K-dramas while I was living with my parents in Shimla and studying there.

I loved the outfits that girls wore in these dramas. The pastel outfits and minimal makeup-accessories looks really appealed to me. That time, it was common to see girls wearing Korean outfits and walking down the famous Mall Road in Shimla. We started doing that too. There is a market called Lower Bazaar where they would sell affordable Korean clothes. I remember we used to go there and buy mini-skirts and boots. In fact, my dad had beige trousers. He wore it on his wedding day. It was kept in the almirah, untouched, for years. I altered the trousers, made it into high pants and I wore it for a few years with pastel blouses and tank tops.
